1. We plan, implement, and evaluate classroom counseling on a regular basis-giving us the ideal opportunity to see and get to know each student.
2. We help students learn to follow school and classroom rules.
3. We conduct academic and personal/social groups to instruct and help students connect with other students with similar concerns. Example group topics include: social skills, friendship, anger control, family changes, grief, and ADHD.
4. We help students solve problems and make effective choices.
5. We help parents understand developmental stages and needs of children.
6. We help parents work with teachers to develop school success strategies for students.
7. We collaborate with community agencies to help parents find assistance. We seek resources to meet each childís physical needs, such as those who are in need of clothing items, shoes, coats, school supplies, eyeglasses, etc.
8. We help new students with the transition process and help those students and parents feel at ease.
9. We meet with students individually as needed and help them learn to cope with their feelings about school, friends, and other concerns.
10. We love our jobs! We love coming to school each day and leaving knowing that we made a difference! We are here to assist students, parents, teachers, administrators, and other school personnel to ensure we are providing the best environment for your student.
